Dan Politano's Song "Smile" To Be Featured In Falcon Beach

(PRWEB) January 6, 2006

Victoria B.C. singer songwriter Dan Politano?s song ?Smile? has been chosen to be included in the hot new drama series Falcon Beach premiering on Global TV on January 5th. ?I'm really excited about my music being featured in a TV show,? says Politano, ?I've always wanted to have a song in a show and Falcon Beach looks like a good one.?

Original Pictures and Insight Productions put out a call to all indie bands from coast-to-coast to submit their songs for consideration to be included in an episode of Falcon Beach. In January, 2005, Falcon Beach premiered as a two-hour pilot that featured 16 songs from indie bands like Pilate, Doctor and Matt Mays & El Torpedo as well as songs from established major label artists like Sam Roberts and Sloan.

?Smile? will be featured in the 6th episode of Falcon Beach, which will air February 10, 2006. ?Smile? is Politano?s latest single and is being released to Hot AC radio stations this week. Politano also hopes to have a music video produced for the song.

Politano released his sophomore CD, Staring With My Eyes Closed, which includes ?Smile,? in the summer of 2005 under his own label, Solo Records. John Webster lent his producing expertise to this EP; Webster?s success is proven by his work with artists such as Tom Cochrane, Kim Mitchell and Bif Naked. Previously, as a session player, he also has worked with Aerosmith, The Cult, and many others.

Politano's music is also going to be featured in this year?s promotional video for Victoria's Mount Doug Rams football team. It's a six minute video to recruit players for next year. You might hear ?Staring With My Eyes Closed? played on CFUV 101.9 during the broadcast of UVIC Vikes basketball games at halftime.

?I feel like I accomplished a lot last year,? reflects Politano, ?I got to record with a great producer in a great studio and I had commercial radio airplay across Canada with my first single ?Light My Soul On Fire.? I'd say the highlight though was opening for Matthew Good, the second night was the best night of my life.

Politano is opening two shows for Tom Hooper (ex ? The Grapes of Wrath) on January 11th at The Central Bar and Grill in Victoria, B.C. and January 12th at The Queens in Nanaimo. With a tour being planned for the spring it looks like 2006 will be another busy year for Politano. http://www.danpolitano.com/

??the man knows how to craft a perfect, crisp, uplifting yet melancholy pop-rock tune, and, like I say, he's tapped into something here that I haven't really heard in a while.? ? Monday Magazine

?The disc?s emphasis is on Politano?s voice (as it should be) and insofar as mainstream pop/rock goes, this guy is capable of penning a great song. The first of this handful is ?Light My Soul On Fire?, which boasts shades of Michael Penn meets someone of greater substance. ?Smile? is an uplifting, racing pop single best experienced while booting down the highway 20 km over the speed limit.? ? ?Staring with My Eyes Closed kicks off with a punch right away. ?Light My Soul on Fire? immediately catches your attention with a hook and a beat that urges the listener to dance along.? ? Being There Magazine
