2005 Sore Thumbs Awards ? Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas awarded Game of the Year

Louisville, KY (PRWEB) December 29, 2004 Take2?s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been awarded Game of the Year in the 2005 Sore Thumbs Awards: ?The promise of virtual reality fulfilled. Never before has a player been given such a variety of things to do or such a large game world in which to do them. San Andreas is the third and final part of the GTA III trilogy and it dwarfs its predecessors in scale and scope. There are so many enhancements I can?t possibly list them all here, but I?ll squeeze in as many as I can: improved targeting controls for gunfights, a broader move list for hand-to-hand combat, the ability to form and lead gangs, broader selection of vehicles, car customization, dynamic weight system that changes your body type, over an hour of NPC dialog, hundreds of clothing options, more side quests and mini-games, two-player modes, and vastly improved artificial intelligence. The last bit is key. I walked out of a casino after winning three million dollars in craps ...

Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care Celebrates 50th Year in Business

Horsham, PA (PRWEB) January 23, 2012 A lot has changed since the first Cottman Transmission Center opened in 1962 in Philadelphia ? 10 presidents have led the country through four recessions, computers and telephones are now one in the same, and ?everyday driver? cars have evolved from simple machines into modern marvels. That revolution alone led Cottman to mature from a humble drive-line repair shop into the country?s finest total auto care brand, said its president, Randy Wright. ?To stay in business, grow like we have and remain successful for this long is a major accomplishment with so much change,? said Wright, an auto service industry veteran who came to Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care in 2011. ?The country has been through major economic and technological upheavals, changes that have made our business substantially more complex than it was 50 years ago. Despite that, we?ve continued to evolve and broaden our services to achieve our status as the industry leader.?...

Sex Shop Comedy Goes Viral in China at Chinese New Year

Beijing, China (PRWEB) January 23, 2012 Until recently, audiences in China had only three options when it came to films: cinema, television, and DVD. Cinemas and television adhere to strict state regulations, while DVDs of overseas films are mostly pirated. But a new alternative is emerging, as local online video sites have begun to pay for streaming rights, bypassing the censorship process altogether. ?Censorship is a long and tedious business. Why not just censor myself to save everyone the meetings and paperwork?? says ?Red Light Revolution? director Sam Voutas. ?I had a radical idea recently that having the movie shown uncut in cinemas would be nice. I quickly censored that thought,? he added. ?Red Light Revolution? tells the story of an unemployed Beijinger who risks his reputation to open an adult shop. The film was picked up by Tudou as its official Chinese New Year comedy, and marks the first time the internet giant has bought a foreign-directed film for its ?Original Co...

Crespi?s Alumni Hall of Fame Highlights a Year of Great Events

Encino, CA (PRWEB) December 31, 2011 As we say good-bye to 2011, Crespi Carmelite experienced another memorable year of events. Graduation is the most important event for the Crespi community, but throughout the year the school still has something for everyone in the community. The year was highlighted by C.A.P.E.R., the school?s annual gala at the Roosevelt in Hollywood. Two extremely successful events followed in Westlake Village, the annual golf tournament at North Ranch Country Club and a Christmas fashion and luncheon at the Four Seasons. Arguably, the best event of the year was the 2011 Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies. The event was held on October 29 in the Crespi Alumni Memorial Gymnasium. The crowded gym was filled with many of Crespi?s best student athletes. This was the first year that event was led by a committee comprising of previous Hall of Fame inductees. Their insight and management helped foster a better experience for the 2011 inductees and the gue...
